Other cancellation policies
Prior to your departure date, and if you are leaving on your originally scheduled date, the property management asks that you complete a departure form and indicate if you would like to use your security deposit for your last month's rent (applies only to residents paying on a monthly basis).
If you need to move out earlier than your originally scheduled departure date, the property management will require a minimum of 30 days advance written notice, by completing a departure form. If not, you will forfeit your security deposit.
In the fall, Sep 1 through Dec 31, bookings are for the entire fall semester. If you depart prior to Dec 31, you will be required to pay the rent through Dec 31, per your signed contract.
Note: Security deposits will not be processed without a departure form.
Cooling Off Period
The property does not offer any cooling off period, all contracts are legal and binding.

Can I pay for my entire stay in full, in advance?
Yes, you can pay for your entire stay in full, in advance. Simply indicate this option on your Financial Responsibility form, once you receive it from Residence.
Am I required to pay a security deposit?
If you are not paying for your stay in full, yes, you will be required to pay a security deposit, equivalent to one months rent. This deposit is refundable after your departure, provided there are no damages to the room or property by the resident. Residents in good-standing may use their security deposit for their last months rent, provided there are no damages to the room or property.
Do I have to pay for the entire month, if I’m staying for less than 30 days?
Are the rooms furnished?
Each room has one standard twin-size bed, a desk, chair, dresser and a closet which locks. Double rooms have two of each, except for small double rooms which only have one closet.
What are the dimensions of a single/double room?
Single : approx. 9' x 11' (2.75 x 3.35 meters)
Double: approx. 10' x 17' (3 x 5.15 meters)
Is there a bathroom or sink in the room?
Every floor has a large communal bathroom with semi-private or private showers, sinks and toilets.
What time is check-in?
Check-in is 3 pm or later. If you need to arrive earlier, please call our office to discuss.
What time is check-out?
Does residence provide cooking and eating supplies?
May I have cable service in my room?
All rooms are wired by Spectrum. Residents requiring service can contact Spectrum once they move in to set up an account; details are available in the residence office.
Can I smoke in my room?
92nd Street Y is a Smoke-Free facility. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the building, including Residence rooms.
Are bicycles allowed in the Residence?
Is there a curfew?
Residents are free to come and go as they please and must always carry their residence ID Card and room key. Residents are required to show their ID to the Security Guards when entering the building.
What is the overnight guest policy?
A guest (can be the opposite sex) may stay in the resident's room a maximum of 4 nights within a 7-day period. The resident is required to fill out a Guest Pass Request Form and pay $10/night for a guest pass. Note: Residents in a shared room need written permission from their roommate at the time they give us the request form.
Can my child and/or young sibling stay as a guest in the Residence?
Are bed linens and towels provided? (Linens as pictured on the online tour and in the photo gallery are not provided)
Bed linen, pillow, blanket and bedspread are supplied. You should bring your own towels.
