Yes, you will need a guarantor to co-sign your Room Booking Agreement.

To book a room online a deposit is payable. The security deposit is €500 and yes, it’s refundable. . If you chose our Monthly Instalment Option, the deposit increases to the equivalent of one month’s Room Booking Fee. they trust that you will give the rooms back in the same state you got them in.

Yes, you must be enrolled in college/university, with a valid student number to live in Property.

Making payments couldn’t be easier! Once your room has been allocated you will be able to pay via your account on website. You will be able to see when all of your payments are due, as well as any other relevant dates on your accounts page. they do ask that payments are made on time. 

All payment dates and amounts are outlined in your HATCH Booking Agreement and in the table on each product page here on the website. You can pay monthly, or in multiple instalments in 3 instalments (save €150) or for full year bookings you can pay in full in September (save €250*).

Apartments are mainly 3 and 4 bedrooms with a shared kitchen/living area but they have a few 2 & 5 bedroom apartments as well. Apartments are spread over 5 floors. If you have specific requests please let us know and they will do our best to facilitate.

If your friends are also booking at Property, you can make a sharing request during the booking process and they will do what they can to facilitate you.

They understand that living with new people can be tough, especially if it’s your first time away from home. Most of the time students staying at Hatch make lasting friendships with their flatmates but if you are having difficulties settling in, please let us know.

Your apartment and bedroom will be fully furnished. All you need, other than your own belongings, is a duvet, pillow, towels and bed linen. 

There is street parking beside Property with pay and display.

You will be welcomed by an on-site receptionist who will give you a tour of the facilities and provide you with your access card. This card gives you access to the building, your apartment, the laundry room and gym facilities. If you are in Steelworks, you will also be given a key for your bedroom door. If you can’t check in during our regular reception hours, just let us know and they can make arrangements. 

Using state of the art access control and CCTV systems, they do everything possible to ensure that Hatch is safe and secure. The building and outdoor areas are well lit and the building is only accessible with an access card but if you experience any issues beyond our reception hours, please call our 24/7 security number. 

Of course! they have bike racks in front of the building, in the courtyard and a secure basement storage facility as well. 

They love planning events for our students at Hatch, especially at the beginning of the year to make sure that everyone settles in and you get to know their neighbours. In recent years they have held pizza nights, table quizzes and Christmas parties. This year they had zoom movie & pizza nights as well as virtual quizzes. Check out our gallery for pictures!

Guests are permitted at certain times but only with advance notice to HATCH via email. Guests cannot stay for longer than 2 nights consecutively and are not permitted during the first 2 weeks of term or during exam periods. HATCH reserves the right to restrict guests if necessary for operational, security or safety reasons.

Yes, if you have any maintenance requests simply log them through our portal and our maintenance team will respond as quickly as they can.

Unfortunately they don’t accommodate pets at Hatch, you’ll have to leave them at home. 

Each apartment has its own post box so you will be able to retrieve any letters there. If you are receiving a package, our receptionist can sign for it and email you to let you know it has arrived and will be stored in the office until you collect it. If a package arrives outside of reception hours, you will have to arrange to meet the delivery man or collect it from the post office, which isn’t far away. 

Previous Hatch tenants have told us that internet is far more important to them for studying and streaming movies so instead they provide superfast broadband. You may bring your own TV to your apartment but you are solely responsible for the TV license. 

They have a contract to suit everyone. You can book for the entire academic year, which is 39 weeks, from the end of August to the start of June. If your college course continues through the summer, you can choose the 51-week option. Or, if you are studying in Cork for one semester, you can choose to stay with us for either the first or second semester. 

Of course, you can stay in your apartment anytime within your tenancy dates. 

They will hate to see you go, but if you decide to leave Hatch during your tenancy you will have to sign a cancellation form. You will be liable for the remaining fees until someone re-rents your room. 

Unfortunately no, you won’t be refunded. Everyone finishes college at different times so they cannot change the dates on the contract.
