APS Mock Lecture by Professor Steven B Rothman "Power and International Relations"

This is a mock lecture by Professor Steven B Rothman from the College of Asia Pacific Studies. This online event will be held via Zoom.


This short introductory lecture discusses the meaning of International Relations as an academic study and the importance of power. Power as a concept in international relations is deeply embedded in philosophy and social relations requiring a lengthy discussion. However, in this short lecture, we will discuss a basic understanding of the most important defining components.

Prof. Steven B Rothman

College of Asia Pacific Studies (APS)

Professor Rothman received a Ph.D. in the Department of Political Science at the University of Oregon with a primary focus on international politics, public choice, and methodology under the supervision of Dr. Ronald Mitchel. His research interests involve understanding soft power; rhetoric, framing, and manipulation; the dynamics of international regimes; research design; and best practices in higher education. He has won several awards for teaching and has a number of successful academic publications.
