This course offers conceptual foundations in the practice of individual psychodynamic counselling and systemic couples and family therapy.
The course provides first applied knowledge of counselling case management.

Demonstrate a theoretical knowledge and first applied knowledge of counselling/psychotherapy case management
Demonstrate advanced foundation knowledge of various psychodynamic and systemic couples and family therapy theoretical frameworks
Demonstrate currency with the theory of psychoanalytic technique as it pertains to individual counselling, including applied knowledge of the concepts transference and counter transference
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ethical frameworks for counselling
Outline key principles of systemic theory to understanding couples and family functioning
