The Diploma of Higher Education (Majoring in Psychological Science) will also provide an exit point for early graduates who wish to undertake advanced skills or paraprofessional work in the industry. Students who take up Psychology courses at JCU will have career prospects that extend beyond psychological disciplines such as marketing, human resources, media, and more.
Students with Year 12, GCE ‘A’ Level or its equivalent but do not meet direct entry to a degree program are eligible to pursue this qualification.
Students in this course will be given a tailored program within the allocated study period to acquire the necessary skills needed to progress to an undergraduate degree program or for applicants who wish to trial the Psychology undergraduate curriculum before committing to the Bachelor course.
Students enrolled in this major will complete two core subjects of the Diploma of Higher Education, along with six subjects contributing to the first year of the James Cook University and the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited Bachelor of Psychological Science.
