Pre-professional transfer programs at uLethbridge facilitate a jump start on your professional career in a smaller, more personal environment than some of the larger universities.
Through arrangements between the University of Lethbridge and professional Faculties at other universities, transfer programs have been established that will prepare students for admission to professional programs offered at other institutions.
Not only will you save money on things like tuition and your cost of living, but you’ll also have access to the professors teaching your classes — and writing your textbooks — and the opportunity to participate in research as an undergraduate student.
These programs are intended to give students priority access to courses satisfying the programs recommended by the professional schools. While these programs have been designed to transfer seamlessly to our partner universities, they are not exclusive and could be used to transfer to other professional schools. Students should seek advice from the school to which they intend to transfer if this is their intent.
Students at uLethbridge may prepare themselves to apply for admission to a number of professional programs offered at other institutions. Law at the University of Calgary is one of these programs. Students can gain the courses and experience to apply to law by pursing a Bachelor of Arts at the uLethbridge with a major of the student's choice. There are no formal pre-law course requirements. The Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary recognizes that students may benefit from a diverse educational background and seeks to attract applicants from business, pure science, the humanities, and the social sciences. Students should enroll in undergraduate courses that develop analytical and reasoning skills and that stress the use of the English language.

Admission to the University of Calgary law program is by quota and is competitive. Students may apply to Law after completing 20 courses, however students may have to finish 30 courses or their degree to be competitive. Admission to law is not solely based on the courses completed and the GPA obtained, academic and extracurricular involvement at uLethbridge is strongly recommended. This can include applied studies, co-op work terms and volunteering.
