DAAD EPOS Scholarship is a fully funded Scholarship for Master of Science in Sustainable Renewable Energy Technologies (SuRE).

Benefit

• Depending on academic level, monthly payments of 934 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates
• Payments towards health, accident and personal liability insurance cover
• Travel allowance, unless these expenses are covered by the home country or another source of funding
• Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may receive the following additional benefits:
  • Monthly rent subsidy
  • Monthly allowance for accompanying members of family.

Persyaratan

Eligibility:

• Applicants must have successfully completed a regular academic programme in Engineering or Science (e.g. Physics, Mech. Eng., Electr. Eng.)
• Applicants have to provide certified proof of their English language competence (e.g. TOEFL, see below)
• Professional experience in the field of or related to (Renewable) Energy and/or Rural Development is appreciated; mandatory for DAAD applicants.

Language Skills:

• For study courses in German (scholarship includes a preparatory 6-month German language course in Germany): Successful passing of the language examination DSH 2 or TestDaF 4 before the start of the study course. Therefore, a minimum German language level of B1 at the time of application is a requirement, that needs to be proofed by providing a current certificate.
  Note: It is not possible to pass the required German language courses (DSH or TestDaF) without any previous basic knowledge in the German language (at least B1 Level), even with the preceding six-month intensive course in Germany. Passing the language test is a formal prerequisite for matriculation at the respective German university.
• For courses in English: IELTS (Band 6) certificate or TOEFL (minimum score: 550 paper based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)
  Note: Some courses may expect a different level. For detailed information see the relevant course description on the following pages.

How to Apply:

• Applications are made through uni-assist (Please check our FAQs for questions related to uni-assist)

• Applicants for both deadlines have to use uni-assist for online application. Below you can find a link to their website. There is no possibility to hand in a paper application.

• DAAD applicants are strongly advised to check www.daad.de for requirements and documents the DAAD asks for.

Selection:

Applications will be discussed by a selection committee selecting DAAD scholarships after the first deadline and all other participants after the second deadline. 

DOCUMENTS NEEDED

You will have to prepare and scan the following documents for your application and upload (!) them as a pdf after registering and before the end of the deadline (DAAD: 15^th October 2023 / self-financing: 15^th January 2024); (note: zip-files are not accepted!)

1. DAAD applicants: Please check the DAAD website for necessary documents
2. Self-financing applicants: Financial statement – signed with current date (please see our FAQ for details)
3. CV (please use the sample europass form at europa.eu/europass/en) with current date
4. Letter of Motivation with current date (1 page/2000 characters maximum with reference to current occupation, fields of interest, outlook of career planned)
5. Letter of recommendation from your current employer (if possible)
6. Certificate(s) of Employment from employer(s) (if possible)
7. Proof of English Language Proficiency: IELTS or TOEFL (Note: The institutional TOEFL is not accepted) or official statement from University that previous studies were conducted in English language. Native speakers of English are exempted.
8. Copies of Academic Degrees (original document and additionally a certified translation if your certificate is neither in German nor English)
9. Copies of Academic Transcripts incl. grading-scale (original document and certified translation if necessary)

Application Deadlines (for study start in Winter Semester 2024)

• 15 October, 2023 - one year before entry (for DAAD applicants).
