Architectural Technology is a three-year Ontario college advanced diploma program. Students will learn the principles of building design, contemporary building methods, and structural and environmental engineering. Graduates of this program will bring their knowledge and experience through a co-op program to their career as an architectural technologist.Your Learning Experience: Combining creativity with the hands-on world of construction, the Architectural Technology program will introduce you to the dynamic, exciting and always in-demand world of building design; The award winning Architectural Technology program will educate students in all aspects of the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry. The Architectural Technology program prioritizes project-based learning in a studio environment, offering students knowledge of Architectural Design, Technical Documentation, Engineered Building Systems, Planning, Building Regulations, Building Science and Project Delivery. Students will engage in the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) of small and large buildings of various types and use a variety of software such as Revit and AutoCAD to complete those documents; The program focuses on immersive studio simulations, leading edge technologies, sector relevant curriculum with a focus on project-based learning, and prepares graduates for the current construction industry. Scenario-based industry simulation studios classes use the latest technologies and practices to prepare the student to participate in the full scope of construction projects. Students engage in the virtual design and construction (VDC) of small and large buildings of various building type while additionally exploring structural, mechanical and electrical system integrations. The Architectural Technology program consists of six academic terms and three paid work terms over a 3 year period; This program is accredited by Co-operative Education and Work Integrated Learning Canada. This accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for co-operative education programs in Canada, and recognizes Fanshawe's commitment to excellence.Diploma to Degree: Fanshawe's Honours Bachelor Degrees have pathways from related diplomas or advanced diplomas, allowing you to graduate with a degree sooner. We have also developed pathways from our Bachelor's degrees to related graduate programs.

Fanshawe College is located in London, Ontario, Canada, only two hours from Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Detroit in the United States. London is known as the ‘Forest City’ and is surrounded by beautiful parks and lakes, as well as being a vibrant business and cultural hub. There are currently 21,000 full-time students at Fanshawe College, including 6,500 international students from 100 different countries.
As one of Ontario's largest colleges, with additional campuses in Simcoe, St. Thomas and Woodstock, as well as campuses in downtown London and London South, Fanshawe offers more than 200 programs at degree, diploma and certificate level.
Fanshawe’s main campus sits on 100 acres of scenic property and includes state-of-the-art learning and athletic facilities. Students can choose from Homestay, on-campus residence or private rentals for their accommodation. All full-time London students receive a London Transit bus pass as part of their fees, as well as access to the Student Wellness Centre. As a member of the Canadian Bureau of International Education, student exchange opportunities are available in Europe, South America, and Asia. Other partnerships provide opportunities for students to explore over 500 academic pathways across Canada and around the world.
Students at Fanshawe are well prepared for professional life. 90.3 percent of Fanshawe graduates find employment within six months of graduating, and 85.8 percent of employers are satisfied with their performances (KPIs 2018-19). The Fanshawe College Alumni Association of 184,000 graduates creates a lasting global connection for all who study at the College.
