Walsh University's Management degree provides students with a solid business foundation along with the planning and leadership skills necessary to inspire and engage employees. Students learn to manage the people, resources and processes that makeup organizations. In addition to gaining experience with negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution, our graduates develop their own leadership style and hone soft skills such as communication, analysis, and critical thinking while observing all aspects of managing a business.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for Management:
Keep in mind that management is very broad by nature, and specializations skew this data, but it is what is available.
- Median Salary: $105,660
- Growth by 2029: 5%
Specialization is key and understanding how to leverage your management degree is vital to success.
Experiential "hands-on" learning is implemented throughout the Management curriculum. Our business students have interned at organizations including Ernst&Young, CNN, Diebold, The Timken Company, Aultman, Mercy Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, J.M. Smucker Co., Professional Football Hall of Fame, Price Waterhouse, Sirak Financial, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
A course devoted entirely to experiential learning is required for majors in the third year of study. Other opportunities include:
- Academic (for credit) internships in the management field. Facilitated through though the internship coordinator in the School of Business, internships are available with local, regional, and global enterprises and recommended for all students
- Additional internships (not for credit). Students can arrange these opportunities with the help of Career Services.
