With the rise in popularity of mobile gaming, the field of game development has seen a dramatic spike in the last five years. Walsh’s game development major provides students with the skills they need to successfully work in the games industry as a developer or producer. It focuses on providing students with a broad base of experience that will translate to success either at larger firms or with smaller developers.
Students will gain extensive experience in the Unity engine. They will also build strong skills in application development, user experience design, web design, and project management.
Game development majors are required to complete a professional internship as part of the core requirements. Professional advisors, as well as Career Center staff, are on hand to assist students in obtaining their internships.
Each graduate will have built a full-functioning game to show prospective employers and will be prepared for a variety of careers including:
- Game Software Developer
- Quality Assurance
