COVID-19 Vaccinations Begin at Kyoto University of Advanced Science

On Wednesday, June 16, Kyoto University of Advanced Science set up a vaccination center on the first floor of the South Building of its Uzumasa Campus and began to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to students. On the first day, vaccines were provided to approximately 200 first, second and third-year nursing students. These vaccinations were conducted ahead of schedule as part of Japan's efforts to vaccinate health workers and to ensure that the students will be safe while conducting their practical training at hospitals this summer.

Under the guidance of a licensed physician, a total of 20 faculty members from the Department of Nursing, staff members with nursing qualifications, and administrative staff, the vaccination center was able to administer vaccinations to the first group of nursing students without delay. This time, the vaccines provided were from Pfizer.

From June 22, KUAS will accelerate its vaccination campaign to inoculate a total of 4,500 students, faculty members, staff, and other campus community members.
